As of last night, Kerri Walsh and Casey Jennings are the parents of Joseph Michael Jennings. Congrats!

From the LA Times:

Joseph Michael Jennings, the couple's first child, was born at 7:15 Friday night. He weighs 8 pounds, 10 ounces, and sports a soft shock of blond hair, the same color as Dad's.

Walsh's water broke at 6 p.m. Friday, five minutes after Jennings returned to their Hermosa Beach home. Jennings drove her to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, in traffic.

Beach volleyball player Nora Tobin is the latest hawtness on the innernets (article 1, article 2) for little reason other than a highly-coiffed reporter who looks like Sean Hannity likes hot girls in bikinis.

Says Darren Rovell:

I'm obviously visiting my own blog here plenty of times each day just to make sure everything looks good. So I was caught off-guard when I saw an ad for FRS energy drink that didn't feature the usual endorser, Lance Armstrong.

Instead, the ad featured a gorgeous, ripped woman named Nora Tobin. As you can see here, it says that Nora is a "pro beach volleyball player."

I guess when you're a sports reporter at CNBC, getting a stiffy over a hottie in an online ad qualifies for a stalkerish blog campaign. Man, if I could earn my paycheck that way, I'm pretty sure I'd be rich by now. Come on, Internets, you know what I'm talking about.

Say hello to the Santa Barbara Jesusita Fire (map). Air quality ain't going to be so hot out at East Beach. :-/

To call it the "San Diego" Open gets a big fat fart noise from me for being so misleading. This year's event in Valley Center is 65 miles from last year's, and over 30 miles from the nearest beach. I grew up in North County San Diego, and I didn't even know where this place was. (Even Ken Delgado skipped this one, which is really saying something.)

Turns out there's a Harrah's Casino in Valley Center. And some farms. And some hills. And that's about it. It's kinda pretty, at least, in a pastoral, middle-of-nowhere kind of way.

I guess the money Harrah's shelled out to bring the tour there was far greater than the value of ticket sales + advertiser exposure + tour exposure down by a popular beach town. But hey, what do I know? I can barely squeeze out a blog post these days via any bodily function of your choosing, and make enough money on this site each month to buy some new bedding for my pet hamster named Tito May-Treanor (no relation to Misty).
